Welcome to Shawn Rumble Recovery Services, where you will receive both personalized & professional addiction assessment, treatment, & referral services. As a person with lived experience and an International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor, I bring a unique perspective to every client I work with.
My expertise also extends to other problematic behaviors such as Gambling, Sex, Shopping, and Gaming. My aim is to provide holistic and personalized support to each client, empowering their recovery journey and improving their overall quality of life.
One of the most popular assessments I offer is the Admission and Discharge Criteria and Assessment Tools (ADAT) package. This comprehensive assessment is widely accepted within Ontario’s Residential Treatment sector and includes such tools as:
Adverse Consequences of Substance Use: This tool assesses the severity and range of adverse consequences related to substance use.
Basis 32: This tool measures the level of difficulty experienced in various areas of life functioning within the past week.
Drug-Taking Confidence Questionnaire for Drugs (DTCQ-8A): – Alcohol Version: This questionnaire assesses the client’s perceived ability to resist drinking heavily or using other drugs in various situations.
Drug-Taking Confidence Questionnaire for Drugs (DTCQ-8D): This questionnaire assesses the client’s perceived ability to resist drinking heavily or using other drugs in various situations.
Health Screening: This tool screens for potential health issues related to substance use.
Perceived Social Support (PSS): This questionnaire measures the quality of relationships with family and friends.
Personal Drinking Questionnaire (SOCRATES 8A): This questionnaire measures the client’s readiness for change with regards to alcohol use.
Personal Drug Questionnaire (SOCRATES 8D): This questionnaire measures the client’s readiness for change with regards to drug use.
PSYCHOACTIVE DRUG HISTORY QUESTIONNAIRE (DHQ): This questionnaire obtains a detailed history of the client’s alcohol and other drug use in the past 90 days.
Treatment Entry Questionnaire (TEQ): This questionnaire measures the client’s level of motivation for treatment.
In addition to the ADAT, I also offer specialized assessments for clients identifying with concerns around sexual behavior designed to provide additional insight and understanding.
Sexual Dependency Inventory-Version 4 (SDI-V4) – The Sexual Dependency Inventory (SDI-V4) is a scientific-based instrument that can assist in determining whether someone is struggling with sex addiction and what specific behaviors should be focused on in treatment. Only licensed professionals who have been trained by the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) can administer and interpret the data. As a counselor, I can help you understand the data and use it to facilitate conversations about sexual behaviors that may be difficult to discuss. Let’s work together to explore your results and determine the best path forward.
Sexual Digital Media Inventory (SDMI) – The Sexual Digital Media Inventory (SDMI) is a comprehensive assessment tool used to determine the presence and extent of problematic digital sexual behavior. As an experienced counselor, I have seen the negative impact that compulsive digital sexual behavior can have on individuals and their relationships. The SDMI provides valuable insight into an individual’s relationship with sexual digital media, including pornography, sexting, and social media use. By understanding the nature and extent of their problematic behavior, we can work together to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to the individual’s specific needs. With the right support and guidance, anyone struggling with problematic digital sexual behavior can overcome their addiction and build a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Money and Work Adaptive Styles Index-Revised (MAWASI-R) – The Money and Work Adaptive Styles Index-Revised (MAWASI-R) is an assessment tool that helps individuals gain insight into their behaviors and attitudes towards money and work. With the help of a licensed professional, the MAWASI-R can identify any unhealthy patterns or beliefs that may be hindering success in personal or professional life. By exploring these patterns, individuals can develop strategies to overcome challenges and make positive changes to improve their financial and career well-being. The MAWASI-R is an empowering tool that can help individuals take control of their financial and work life and move towards a more fulfilling future.
The following assessments may be helpful with concerns around past trauma:
Post Traumatic Stress Index-Revised (PTSI-R) – The Post Traumatic Stress Index-Revised (PTSI-R) is a powerful tool to help assess the impact of traumatic experiences on an individual’s life. As a licensed professional trained to administer and interpret the PTSI-R, I can use this tool to help you better understand how your past experiences may be impacting your present and future. By working together to explore the results of the PTSI-R, we can develop a customized plan to help you move forward in a healthy and positive way. While the journey towards healing may not always be easy, I am committed to providing a compassionate, evidence-based approach to treatment that focuses on your unique needs and goals. With the right support and guidance, anyone can find the hope and healing they deserve.
Inventory for Partner Attachment, Stress, and Trauma-Revised (IPAST-R) – The Inventory for Partner Attachment, Stress, and Trauma-Revised (IPAST-R) is a powerful tool to help individuals and couples explore the impact of trauma on their relationships. By examining the various aspects of attachment and how they can be affected by stress and trauma, the IPAST-R provides a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s or couple’s emotional, physical, and cognitive responses to traumatic experiences. Through this assessment, individuals and couples can gain a deeper understanding of the factors that contribute to their emotional reactions, communication patterns, and relational dynamics. With the support of a skilled therapist, the IPAST-R can serve as a valuable resource in the healing journey towards building more secure and fulfilling relationships.
As a solo practitioner, I take pride in providing individualized, patient-centered care, always keeping up with the latest research and treatment options and providing evidence-based care. I understand the importance of addressing not just the addiction itself, but also the underlying causes, such as trauma or mental health disorders, often connected to addiction
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or to book your assessment. Together, we can uncover the path towards healing and lasting recovery.
